Rescue Pets NFTs

When the #BettyWhiteChallenge was proposed on social media to honor what would have been her 100th birthday, I decided to create an NFT collection of 17 of my very best award-winning rescue pet images with 50% of the proceeds going to non-profit animal shelters.

16 of 17 Chile Dog Photography NFTs created for the #BettyWhiteChallenge.

Betty was a long-time supporter of animal shelters and zoos. Meta reports that the #BettyWhiteChallenge raised $12.7 million for animal shelters and rescues between Facebook and Instagram. It should be noted that the #BettyWhiteChallenge was originally proposed on Twitter.

The Metaverse & Hype

Have you noticed all the hype about the Metaverse, cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs)? it’s literally EVERYWHERE these days. I bought my first crypto and NFT a while back, and just dabbled with NFTs in 2021. This year, I actually had a good cause to promote with my NFT collection so I jumped in head first.

Learning about Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Now, the world of non-fungible tokens is literally the Wild West, so it make take some time to actually sell one to a collector, but I’m very patient ;). Besides, I learned a whole lot in the process of creating this collection and about the community of photographers creating and selling NFTs.

Stay tuned to this space for more on what NFTs actually are, and how they are created and where to find them. In the meantime, check out my article, “17 Rescue Animals I Photographed For My NFT Collection That Supports Animal Shelters” on Bored Panda, and the Rescue Pets NFT collection itself on OpenSea, an NFT marketplace that’s also happens to be a Mark Cuban Company.
