Utah Pet Photographer Named 2022 Bronze Medalist at IPC

Kim Kuhlman of Chile Dog Photography is honored by peers and jurors for high-quality photography

SANDY, UTAH, SEPT. 20, 2022

Utah Pet Photographer, Kim Kuhlman, was named a Bronze Medal during PPA's 2022 International Photographic Competition. Kuhlman’s work will be on display at the upcoming Imaging USA, held January 22-24, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. Imaging USA is one of the largest annual conventions and expos for professional photographers.

A panel of 36 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from over 5,000 total submitted entries. Judged against a standard of excellence, 2,211 images were selected for the Merit Collection and 1,013 (roughly 20 percent) were selected for the esteemed Imaging Excellence Collection—the best of the best. The Imaging Excellence Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated " Excellence Collection" book by Marathon Press.

The level of the award is determined by how many of the four images in the photographer's "case" receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Imaging Excellence Collection, which is displayed at photographic exhibitions, conventions, and other photography events. Kim Kuhlman was named a Bronze Medalist by earning a merit—a mark of quality and honor—for each of the four images included in her entry case to the International Photographic Competition. This is the most prestigious competition of its kind, where images are judged based on a standard of artistic excellence, not against each other. In 2021, there were only 58 Bronze Medalists.

About Kim Kuhlman & Chile Dog Photography:

I really enjoy creating character-filled portraiture and action images of dogs and horses expressing joy, whether in the studio or on location. My portraits and action photography allow me to sponsor local shelters that are in need of assistance.  Great images REALLY DO help animals get adopted more quickly.
